It works like a combination of a step sequencer and a music box.
There are six photo resistors inside the cylinder and six Leds outsider cylinder.
When the dots cover the light, it will trigger the notes that are generated by Max through serial communication.
And the cylinder is rotated and driven by hands, which allows the user to control the direction and speed of the device manually. Another interactive part is that the dots can be re-arranged to create different ‘musical scores’.
